Description

Pefloxacin is an antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. A synthetic broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibacterial agent active against most gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria.

Mechanism of action

All Fluoroquinolones and Quinolone act by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase enzyme which is required for DNA replication and thus cause bacterial lysis.
