Mechanism of action
Nitroxazepine acts as a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and has similar effects to imipramine. These medications function by inhibiting serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake within the presynaptic terminals, resulting in elevated concentrations of these neurotransmitters within the synaptic cleft. It restores the chemical imbalance in the brain and improves the mood and behavior. It is also used to treat bedwetting in children older than 6 years of age
