Mechanism of action
It is DNA intercalator.
Mitoxantrone is a synthetic antibiotic widely used as a chemotherapeutic drug for the treatment of solid tumors, leukemia, and lymphoma [157–159]. This drug inhibits DNA synthesis by intercalation into DNA double strands. Mitoxantrone also belongs to the class of topoisomerase II inhibitors .
