Description

Glucagon is a hormone that raises blood sugar (glucose). It is made in the pancreas. When blood sugars are low, glucagon tells the liver to send sugar into the blood, which goes to the cells for energy.

Mechanism of action

It binds to its receptor and activates adenyl cyclase and increases cAMP in target tissues.
