Fludarabine

Description

Fludarabine is a purine analog antimetabolite that inhibits DNA synthesis. Fludarabine is a chemotherapeutic agent used in the treatment of hematological malignancies. It is commonly marketed under the brand name Fludara.

Mechanism of action

It inhibits ribonucleotide reductase, DNA polymerase alpha/delta and epsilon, DNA primase and DNA ligase, thereby inhibiting DNA synthesis. It also partially inhibits RNA polymerase-II.
