Description

Dipivefrin is a prodrug of epinephrine used in ophthalmic solutions to reduce intraocular pressure in chronic open-angle glaucoma. Dipivefrin is also a prodrug of adrenaline, which is used to treat glaucoma. It is available as ophthalmic solution

Mechanism of action

It may exert its action by reducing blood flow in the ciliary body and consequently suppressing aqueous humour production.
