Mechanism of action

It is a V2 receptor agonist and acts centrally.
Polyuria and polydipsia are usually well controlled. It produces slight diuresis every 24 hours to avoid water intoxication. It has no
vasoconstrictor effect. It works on the kidneys to decrease the amount of urine made.
