Gonorrhoea

  • The onset of gonococcal arthritis is usually more sudden than that of reactive arthritis.
  • Presents as either mono (commoner variety) or oligoarthritis, which affects the joints of the upper limbs.
  • The arthritis is often associated with tenosynovitis or periarthritis.
  • Migrating joint symptoms and pustular skin lesions are characteristic of gonococcal arthritis.
